This is a fun and easy drink to add to your summer repertoire, cool, refreshing with a bit of pep from the Matcha. A great alternative to ice coffee and loaded with lots of vitamin C and antioxidants. This is a fun mocktail option too for your next bbq!

Beverage

Ingredients

1/4 cup

Fresh Lemon Juice

1-2 tsp

Maple Syrup

(adjust to taste)

1 1/2 cups

Cold Water

1 tsp

Matcha Powder

2-3 Tbsp

Hot Water

1 cup

Ice

Instructions

1

In a glass or jar, whisk lemon juice and maple syrup until dissolved, taste and adjust sweetness if necessary. Add cold water and stir well.

2

In a small bowl froth together the matcha powder and hot water until the matcha is bright and foamy. This may take a minute or two.

3

Divide the ice and lemonade into two glasses and pour matcha over each. This should create a layer effect. Serve as is or garnish with lemon wedges or mint. Serve right away.

4

Notes: I suggest sourcing ceremonial grade matcha for the most complementary flavour profile but use what you have available. Feel free to top each drink with ¼ cup of sparkling water to create a sparkling matcha lemonade.
