Serve this beautiful wreath at your next small gathering to wow your guests and fulfill their smoked salmon bagel desires! This recipe comes together quickly and is a fun way to eat a tried and true combination of food.

Instructions

  1. 1

On a large plate, dollop the cream cheese to create a large circle near the perimeter of the plate. This is the base of your wreath, so be sure to make it symmetrical and centred as best you can.

  2. 2

Arrange the cucumber slices on the cream cheese, varying between loosely rolled strips and tightly wound rolls (see the attached photo of the cucumber rolls).

  3. 3

Next, layer on the smoked salmon, followed by the pickled onions, dill, capers and pomegranate seeds. Arrange the lemon wedges around the wreath or keep them on the side if you don’t have space on the plate. Put the plate on a large platter or serving plate and arrange the bagel pieces all around the wreath. Serve with an appetizer knife and enjoy!

  4. 4

Note: If you plan to serve this at a gathering, you can certainly make it the night before. Refrain from slicing the bagels until just before serving so they stay fresh.

  5. 5

Substitutions: Dairy-free: You can try this recipe with mashed avocado mixed with lemon juice instead of cream cheese. Note that avocado browns when oxidized, so you must eat it immediately after creating your wreath. Gluten-free: Use gluten-free bagels and/or crudités instead of regular bagels.
