If you’re a fan of chocolate, tahini and protein in your snacks, then you’re going to love this vegan protein bar recipe! Most packaged protein bars are loaded with sugar and a ton of ingredients that aren’t always recognizable. This recipe has simple ingredients, comes together super quick and is the perfect snack between meals to keep your blood sugar balanced due to its fibre and protein content.

Instructions

  1. 1

Place a long, narrow piece of parchment paper in a loaf pan.

  2. 2

Place all ingredients except for the dark chocolate in a food processor and process until combined well. You will create a dough-like mixture.

  3. 3

Spread the mixture in the loaf pan being sure to smooth the top. You can place another piece of parchment on top of the mixture and use a spatula or your fingers to press the mixture evenly. Chill in the freezer for 30 minutes.

  4. 4

If you’re using the dark chocolate to drizzle on the protein bars, melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Cut the protein bars into 6 servings and drizzle the chocolate over each bar. Sprinkle additional hemp hearts on top as garnish. Store in the fridge or freezer for up to 1 week.

  5. 5

Substitutions: No chocolate vegan protein powder? Use your favourite protein powder instead. No maple syrup? Use honey.
