optional
1
Place a long, narrow piece of parchment paper in a loaf pan.
2
Place all ingredients except for the dark chocolate in a food processor and process until combined well. You will create a dough-like mixture.
3
Spread the mixture in the loaf pan being sure to smooth the top. You can place another piece of parchment on top of the mixture and use a spatula or your fingers to press the mixture evenly. Chill in the freezer for 30 minutes.
4
If you’re using the dark chocolate to drizzle on the protein bars, melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Cut the protein bars into 6 servings and drizzle the chocolate over each bar. Sprinkle additional hemp hearts on top as garnish. Store in the fridge or freezer for up to 1 week.

Substitutions: No chocolate vegan protein powder? Use your favourite protein powder instead. No maple syrup? Use honey.
