This combination is the perfect snack filled with lots of fibre and healthy fats. It’s a fun and delicious way to try a different vegetable and add a little variety into your diet. What is Jicama? It’s a root vegetable traditionally grown in Mexico and Central America. The taste is juicy and crunchy, with a slightly sweet flavour. The taste resembles a cross between a potato and a pear.

Instructions

  1. 1

Cut your avocados in half, remove the pit, and remove the avocado from the skin. Add to a medium sized bowl and mash the avocado with a fork.

  2. 2

Add a crushed garlic clove, fresh lime juice and salt to taste. Mix until combined.

  3. 3

Cut the jicama in half and then cut off the skin. Then cut it lengthwise then cut again into thick strips.

  4. 4

Dip the jicama in to guacamole and enjoy!

  5. 5

Substitutions: Don’t like garlic? Omit it, add diced onion or a pinch of garlic powder. Don’t have lime? You can use lemon instead. Like some heat? Add some hot sauce or jalapeño.
